Providing Counseling and Psychotherapy for Individuals, Couples, and Families on Whidbey Island WA

Hello, My name is Colin Lindborg. Welcome.  Feel free to take off your digital shoes, take several deep breaths, and relax into an exploration of whether or not you feel we might be a good fit as therapist and client.

I grew up in the stifling suburbs of Orange County California, often feeling like I didn’t belong, but not understanding why I felt this way. I attended the University of California in Irvine (after many years of exploration at a local community college) and received a degree in Psychology and Social Behavior. I experienced some real disillusionment, and I left my suburban life to live and work at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, CA where I attended a number of experiential workshops, developing a holistic view of the human organism as being embedded in multiple overlapping systems and intimately connected (though through the ego, experiencing a deep sense of disconnection and aloneness).

I have been drawn to this work, because I have experienced my own struggles and heartbreaks. Since deciding to leave Southern California in 2006, I have been lucky enough to stumble across a number of caring individuals who helped me get back on my own feet and find my own “internal compass” and resources, and rediscover a sense of my own connectedness and belonging in our world. These individuals helped me to seek out new horizons for myself and after these challenges and recoveries I can’t imagine any other honor greater than supporting others in similar ways. Have you come to a loose end in your own life and don’t know which direction to turn? Have you lost relationships close to you (through death, or a relational break) and are dealing with intense feelings of sadness, anger, or hopelessness around these losses? Are you having challenges with your relationships (or even challenges creating the relationships you want in life)? Are you feeling disconnected from your relationships, your work, your passions, your self? I have pursued this work due to my earnest desire to see others and support them exactly where they are. Among other things, I want to help you discover and recover your inner strengths, resiliency, resources, and talents so that you can use them to create the life you want, to live a life you love. I want to help you build relational skills to create the relationships you want in this life.

I spend my free time entertaining my love of dance and other therapeutic movement practices, walking or simply being in nature, reading/taking workshops to continue my own growth, and watching some occasional film or television program. I also have a passion for cooking and love making meals with and for the people I care about! Being around animals (primarily dogs and horses) is also a source of meaning and comfort for me.
